Welcome to the Hallmark Inn Impressions
Can you believe another Season has come and gone? The installation of the 1000' watercolor "Birds-eye View, Davis" was equally impressive as the finished art. The Courtyard has taken on a life of its own with the addition of the 6' Olive trees, an array of colorful landscape, and the grapevine provided by Gene Glaeser of Putah Creek Winery. It has been incredibly uplifting and invigorating to see the many guests enjoying the surroundings from early in the morning to late in the day. Opportunities abound as we will begin showcasing local wineries in our Courtyard lounge. What a great place to host a reception for your out-of-town guest staying at the Inn. Coincidentally as the new school year begins we are launching a great new user friendly website. Looking forward to your next visit-
Sincerely,

A special reception was held on September 11th in conjunction with the DDBA "2nd Friday Art About" to allow the public to meet acclaimed artist, Stephanie Taylor. A special thank you to Berryessa Gap, Rominger West, Twisted Rivers and Putah Creek wineries for putting on a wonderful tasting. Welcome to the Hallmark Inn Impressions
What would you do if you had134 rooms occupied with Out of Towners & the power went out?
I can honestly say the place I would want to be when a "confluence of catastrophe's occur" quoting one guest, is at the "Hallmark Inn". I have never been more impressed by the staff in the way they handled the seemingly never ending issues that arose the weekend of May 15th. It all began with a power outage that took over the central part of Downtown Davis for more than 2 hours on a busy Friday evening. I was traveling home across the Yolo causeway towards Sacramento when the call came...the hotel lost power. With a simple directive to find out for how long I headed back. Upon my arrival I found that our Maintenance dept along with the Front Desk team had put into action our emergency plan including providing complimentary Fiji water, glow sticks, and portable lights while proceeding with general guest needs without showing any sign of distress. Surprisingly I received numerous compliments... not complaints as you would expect... primarily on how the staff maintained a constant calm & controlled display of professionalism throughout the crisis. If a power outage has to occur there is no better time than during our Complimentary Managers Cocktail Reception. As my Front Desk manager put it..."we may not have lights or air conditioning but we still have cold beer flowing". I won't bore you with additional details but I must confess it was definitely a challenging weekend that reaffirmed the commitment to guest service is the mission of our team.
Sincerely,

Hallmark Inn Open House Mixer
What an incredible turnout for our July 9th party. Over 200 guests came to view the newly decorated surroundings. Thank you to Seasons Restaurant for the fabulous hors d' oeuvres, Strelitzia for the beautiful arrangements and Pleasant Valley for the toe tapping music. A fun time was had by all...while networking with business colleagues & making new friends a few won some great giveaways. If you were one of the unfortunate that had a scheduling conflict and couldn't join us, please feel free to contact Rachel at #530-753-3600 for your personal tour.
Hallmark Inn continues with Eco-Friendly Efforts
This month we are very excited to introduce The BeeKind Collection of products from Gilchrist & Soames as our in-room amenity program. The opportunity for us to provide a quality product made from ingredients that are safe & free from artificial colours or dyes while reducing waste was a simple decision. In addition proceeds from the net sales of BeeKind support honey bee and sustainable pollination research within UC Davis Dept of Entomology. For more information regarding this and additional programs:
The scaffolding is up, the wall will be primed & beginning Monday July 20th local artist Stephanie Taylor will install a mural depicting an aerial view of Davis on our patio wall. Come by and see a work of art in progress.
Congratulations to
